Well we started our rifle season off well! I guided our 5 good friends from Arkansas on a new ranch we picked up for elk. We went 5 for 5 on bulls! We saw tons of elk and had fun staying at the lodge and spending time with the folks from Centennial Livestock.  I then went to our Eastern Montana operation and guided Mike. an ex NYPD officer, to a really nice mule deer. We saw a few toads and Mike killed a solid four by four on his third day. These Mule Deer hunts are the best in Montana and we kill some huge bucks. We killed three over 190 this year and almost all our bucks top 170. It’s a fantastic hunt that almost anyone can do. I then met up with my partner Jim Brennan at the ranch where we operate some whitetail hunts to help him hang stands and scout, getting ready for a cabelas film crew to come in. I guided a gentleman from Salt Lake to a nice 140 plus whitetail buck as Jim handled the boys from Cabelas. After I finished with my hunter I jumped in with Jim and long story short these guys killed a giant 173-inch whitetail buck on camera for Cabelas Outdoor Adventures TV show. While we were there Terry was running a group of Mule Deer hunters from California on the same ranch. Terry had a great season, as he always does, guiding his hunters to some great Mule Deer. Terry always has been a favorite of our clients because he’s such a great guy and truly enjoys guiding. After that we finally were able to do a little hunting of our own and Terry killed a Bull elk on public land late in the season. Terry put in his time for that elk and he deserves it! Terry also headed over to Eastern Montana after he guided goose hunters for a month and killed a lion! I headed north to the Canadian border with Jim Brennan and we each killed nice Mule Deer on public land in front of the camera.
