Terry Honkanen-
Terry Honkanen, a life long western big game hunter, has been a full time professional hunting guide in Montana for the past three years. Working for one of Montana’s premier outfitters Terry logs over 100 days a year guiding hunters from all over the country. Starting in mid August with Antelope bow hunters, Terry then guides bow hunters for deer and elk through October and Trophy Mule deer hunters during Montana’s rifle season in November. Terry then turns his efforts to waterfowl and pheasants. In the spring Terry spends a month guiding Merriam’s turkey hunters with both bow and shotgun. Terry also applies for big game tags and accumulates preference points in 6 western states for the last ten years. A true professional who is passionate about what he does, Terry spends a lot of time in the winter months studying each western states new and updated regulations and keeps current on the changes in the drawing in each state. Terry is a firm believer in giving back, and has been a committee member of The Mule Deer Foundation, Foundation For North American Wild Sheep, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and National Wild Turkey Federation. Terry truly enjoys talking about hunting the west and loves to share his wealth of knowledge on the subject. Excited about helping others enjoy the benefits of drawing coveted big game tags and experiencing the hunt of their lifetimes, Terry has this to say about joining the Rocket Ryan Outdoors.com team:
“We don’t want this to be just another website you visit. We want to become a part of your hunting life and you a part of ours. We hope that when you draw that tag, or go on that hunt of lifetime, that you’ll share it with us with pictures or a story and we in turn will share it with others. That, to me, is what our hunting heritage is all about.”
Terry’s motto is live every day to the fullest; life is short so make the most of it. He feels very fortunate to have
made a life doing what he loves the most and brings his knowledge as a guide and western big game hunter to
share with all of you.
